Sam has been DJing professionally in NYC and around the globe for over 2 decades. Throughout this time, he’s held down residencies in clubs, lounges and bars around town, toured internationally as a Hip Hop artist, and been a go-to call for galas, private events, fundraisers, in-stores, and, indeed, weddings. He’s DJ’d for clients including Saturday Night Live, Brooklyn Museum, National Book Award, PEN America, American Cancer Society, Tribeca Film Festival, Rooftop Films, Spotify, Puma, Habitat For Humanity, The Freelancer’s Union, and 24 Hour Plays on Broadway. From the Natural History Museum to the Plaza Hotel to every Cipriani location round town, Sam’s extensive musical knowledge, attuned sensitivities and expert skills leave dancefloors turned out, and revelers of all generations and flavors leaving rave reviews. He is an MC and poet by craft, a classroom facilitator by trade and a DJ who has rocked with the best to ever do it. Which has prepared him for any party scenario.

Weddings tap into the sum of these assets: varied settings, wide-ranging musical tastes, intergenerational guestlists. Sam works with clients to curate their vision, assemble “definitely do play” and “definitely don’t play” request lists, and shape the flow of event. He thrives in the DJ booth taking your requests and responding to the room to weave a musical pastiche that’s a reflection of the newlyweds, their people, and the celebratory energy. And he gets BUSY. Sam is not a button-pushing sync-mode DJ; he is a turntablist, record collector, student of the craft and Culture, and refined Master of Ceremonies. To these trusted ends, he’s been flown to destinations to DJ weddings in Grenada, Spain, Turks & Caicos, Sofia, Bulgaria, and all over the U.S..

Locally he’s frequently tapped for nuptial celebrations in the Catskills, the Hudson Valley, the 5 Boroughs and the Tri-State. But maybe the words of a happy couple best summarize his gift:

Sam had the formidable task of keeping everyone in our culturally and musically diverse wedding dancing. We chose him because we knew he was up to the task. Sam was able to weave in and out of rock, hip hop, pop, reggae, soca, polka, R&B, and keep everyone happy. A month later, I still have friends and family calling, emailing and Facebooking to tell me how much fun they had dancing and how great Sam was. He had the dancefloor packed for five hours straight. As for the preparation for the wedding, Sam was incredibly professional and attentive. He guided us (wedding amateurs at the time) through creating a rough script of the day, anticipated our needs, figured out all of the logistics of setting up in our outdoor venue, and went to great lengths to find all of the diverse music we wanted for the evening. Sam is professional, personable, supportive, and an incredibly talented DJ... just what you want on your wedding day!
